About the role
- Lead strategic sourcing for new software purchases – conducting needs assessments, managing RFx processes and negotiating enterprise agreements
- Own the renewal management for existing software contracts, initiating reviews 90+ days before expiration to optimize terms and right-size licenses
- Analyze utilization in partnership with our Technical Data and Innovation team members to identify cost savings through license optimization, consolidation, and elimination of redundant applications
- Partner with IT, Security, Legal and business stakeholders to evaluate suppliers against technical, security, and commercial requirements
- Negotiate complex SaaS and perpetual license agreements, including pricing models, SLAs, data security provisions and exit terms
- Maintain supplier relationships through structured business reviews, performance tracking and issue resolution
- Feed market intelligence and sourcing insights back to the IT Category Manager to inform broader category strategy
- Engage and participate in special projects or complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience
- 5 – 6 years in procurement strategic sourcing and supplier management
- Direct experience in negotiating software and SaaS agreements
- Deep knowledge of software licensing models (subscription, perpetual, named user, concurrent, consumption-based)
- Strong analytical capabilities – comfortable with spend data, utilization metrics and TCO modeling
- Experience with enterprise software suppliers (Microsoft, Salesforce, Smartsheets, Adobe, etc)
- Familiarity with SaaS management platforms (Zylo, Productiv, Flexera, or similar)
