About the role

  • Assist both Fortune 500 and middle market clients across industries with their state unclaimed property reporting requirements and related consulting needs (e.g., audit defense, voluntary disclosures, policies and procedures, etc.)
  • Learn, through on-the-job training, to apply accounting, technology, written and oral communication skills to become a Value Architect delivering advisory and compliance services to clients
  • Be a trusted member of a national practice providing various advisory services, including: Organization and management of client data and documents
  • Detailed reviews of client records (e.g., accounting documents, procedures, etc.) to identify areas of potential unclaimed property noncompliance
  • Interviews of client accounting and operational personnel
  • Identification of client’s potential unclaimed property exposure
  • Development of strategic plans to limit client’s potential exposure
  • Presentation of suggestions to clients to reduce potential exposure
  • Creation of models to calculate potential exposure
  • Assistance with the management of clients’ state unclaimed property audits and voluntary disclosure agreements
  • Support for drafting technical written memorandums
  • Interaction with clients, outside legal counsel, and state unclaimed property representatives
  • Preparation and filing of annual unclaimed property reports to multiple jurisdictions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in accounting or law, or a related degree in business
  • Outstanding academic performance required, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel
  • Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving
  • Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Unclaimed Property experience is NOT required
