About the role

  • Support the implementation of new accounting technology through leading practice setup for accounting processes
  • Provide initial accounting related services and cleanup services to our clients as needed before transition to recurring team for ongoing services including reconciling balance sheet accounts, creating reconciliation schedules, and producing financial statements for next level review
  • Partner with project managers to identify project risks and issues and work together to collaboratively develop and articulate mitigation strategies
  • Provide team with basic support to accomplish client deliverables
  • Prepare internal documentation for recurring services team upon project transition
  • Proactively communicate status of work, ask timely questions, and seek clarity from lead on client engagement when needed to keep work progressing
  • Answer accounting and software questions, escalating as needed
  • Meet client service expectations through adhering to quality and timely client deliverables, and meeting time budget expectations
  • Respond to questions/concerns from team members and clients (internal and/or external)
  • Execute on defined processes and procedures and share ideas or recommendations for improvements
  • Promptly communicate roadblocks and inefficiencies as they arise
  • Maintain and expand knowledge base of accounting principles and practices
  • Apply learning from one client engagement to the next and share learning with fellow team members where relevant
  • Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred. Experience in lieu of a degree may be accepted
  • Five (5) years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field desired
  • Professional services experience a plus
  • Knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping and payroll principles related to classifying, recording, and summarizing data and making computations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with client resources from lower level to C-suite
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality for completion of projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent analytic skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies
  • Stay current with updates and improvements on applicable technology platforms and obtain certifications as directed
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively and with a sense of urgency in a deadline driven environment serving multiple clients
  • Strong adaptability and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Ability to learn from experiences and integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, BILL, Ramp a plus
  • Experience and knowledge working within MS Office Suite
