About the role
- Applies Engineering concepts and theories to deliver the development of designs, calculations and technical solutions for Babcock products and services across the Engineering Product Lifecycle.
- Works independently with occasional supervision, seeking guidance for complex situations.
- Develops learning, skills and experience within discipline/domain.
- Provides mentoring to others.
- Supports the design consultancy function for critical infrastructure projects, working on new designs, modifications, and life extension activities for control and instrumentation systems.
- Captures and specifies system requirements.
- Develops designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Writes specifications and produces maintenance and commissioning documents.
- Manages technical queries and design deviations.
- Supports implementation phases, including manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
Requirements
- Minimum HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a Control and Instrumentation discipline.
- Understanding of electrical control principles for control and instrumentation systems.
- Familiarity with electrical instruments and their applications.
- Awareness of regulations, legislation, and standards relevant to Control and Instrumentation engineering.
- Ability to produce and interpret Control and Instrumentation schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience following a typical design lifecycle.
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
