About the role
- Join our Cavendish Nuclear business for an Electrical Engineering Placement Year and play a key role in delivering safe, secure, and sustainable nuclear solutions that support the UK’s clean energy future
- Depending on the business stream you’re part of, you could be involved in designing systems for decommissioning and waste management
- Supporting the operation of existing nuclear power stations
- Contributing to the construction of new facilities
- Developing technologies for future fusion and fission reactors
- Throughout your placement, you’ll work on live projects as part of a multidisciplinary team
- You’ll contribute to technical assessments, perform calculations, support safety evaluations, assist with project planning, and participate in stakeholder meetings
Requirements
- You must be working towards a degree in one of the following subjects: Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Control Systems, Aerospace, Avionics, and Software
- Many of our undergraduate programmes are subject to Security Clearance and Trade Control restrictions which mean that your place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency you hold or have held may impact which programmes you are eligible for
- For this programme, you must be able to achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance
