As Head of Engineering, you will lead Babcock’s Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO), providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and regulatory leadership across aviation maintenance services.
Reporting to the Managing Director – Aviation & Critical Services, you will be responsible for driving a high-performance culture grounded in safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
You will oversee all aspects of aircraft and aeronautical product maintenance, ensuring compliance with CASA regulations (Part 145, CAR30, CAR42), and hold the CASA-authorised Form 4 Responsible Manager designation.
Your role will include managing budgets, developing maintenance systems, leading engineering teams, and ensuring the availability of qualified personnel and resources.
This is a pivotal leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
You will play a key role in supporting Babcock’s growth, contributing to tenders and mobilisation efforts, and championing the company’s principles and safety culture.
Requirements
Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Security Clearance.
Have the ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
Hold and maintain understanding of human factors principles.
Have experience relevant to Babcock's provision of maintenance services.
Have and maintain an understanding of: CASA CASR Part 145 and the Part 145 Manual of Standards, CASA CAR 30, CASA CAR 42.
Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).
Hold a valid part 66 Licence.
