About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as the second engineer on the product team directly with the founder/technical lead
- Shape the product, make architectural decisions, and own products and features end-to-end
- Understand user requirements and the property-management problem space
- Design data models, APIs, and architecture
- Build core features for the property-management platform
- Develop tooling to migrate acquired companies onto the platform
- Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code in the normal development workflow
- Work with users in property-management companies and incorporate acquisition learnings into the product
- Discuss requirements, explore approaches, and decide what to build or skip
- Participate in screening, technical, cultural, and paid working-together interview stages
Requirements
What you’ll need- Product curiosity and desire to understand why something is being built
- Strong experience building robust SaaS applications
- Comfortable designing and owning frontend and backend systems, including infrastructure
- Knowledge of best practices and ability to judge AI coding-agent output in frontend and backend development
- Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem
- React/TypeScript experience
- Experience with Terraform, Azure, AWS, and AI services
- Pragmatic experience with AI tools and understanding of their potential
- Fluent German
- Exposure to property management, real estate, or German Mittelstand software
- Experience with data migrations or system integrations
- Ability to work across frontend and backend boundaries
- Comfort with ambiguity in a small team
