About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Administer relational and non-relational databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB
Support critical and high-availability environments
Monitor database environments, identifying risks related to availability, capacity, and performance
Perform query analysis and tuning
Identify and resolve database-related incidents
Manage Change processes in production environments, overseeing approvals and implementation
Liaise with vendors to open, track, and escalate support tickets
Work closely with technical teams and other stakeholders involved in environment support
Contribute to the continuous improvement of database monitoring, performance, and availability processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
Experience administering critical and high-availability databases
Experience in query analysis and tuning
Experience with SQL Server AlwaysOn
Experience with monitoring tools, especially Zabbix and Grafana
Experience with Agile methodologies
Experience with ITSM tools
Experience opening and managing Changes in production environments, including tracking required approvals
Experience opening vendor support tickets, following up, and escalating when necessary
Experience monitoring databases and identifying relevant metrics and items for tracking availability and performance
Knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL is desirable
Certifications in Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server are desirable
Experience with AWS Cloud environments is desirable
Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard and SQL Server AlwaysOn is desirable
Knowledge of backup and restore processes using RMAN is desirable
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is desirable
