About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
Create a donor experience they’ll love and want to come back
Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
Set up machines and collections equipment
Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation
Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets

Requirements

What you’ll need

Excellent customer-facing skills
Genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to donors
Curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological products
Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
Ability to stand, walk, and bend frequently to set up and pack down machines and blood products
Flexibility to work varied shifts on a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
Full availability Monday to Friday required for the 12-week training program.
