About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work collaboratively with the Program Manager, Nurse Practitioner, and Consultants supporting consumers with co-occurring mental health and substance use or addiction needs.
- Provide therapeutic and clinical supports.
- Support virtual appointments where this expedites and supports access to care without reducing clinical quality.
- Assist with primary and secondary addiction medicine assessments and capacity building across mental health, wellbeing, and AOD services.
- Assist with referral intake and coordinate consumer flow.
- Deliver education sessions to mental health and AOD teams.
- Support stakeholders in integrating mental health and AOD services.
- Establish linkages and liaison with community partnering services and stakeholders.
- Accept and triage referrals from regional partners via Turning Point and coordinate referrals appropriately.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Nurse registered with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and other relevant legislation.
- Relevant professional qualification in Mental Health nursing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of recovery and collaborative clinical practice.
- Consumer-centered approach to care.
- Flexible, innovative, team-oriented approach to service delivery.
- Proficiency in information technology systems and applications, including Office 365, search engines, and databases.
- Satisfactory National Police Check.
- Working With Children Check if required.
