About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the delivery of major road, highway, and transport infrastructure projects, including MRWA works
Prepare detailed road and highway design drawings including alignments, long sections, cross sections, drainage layouts, and pavement details in accordance with MRWA standards and Austroads guidelines
Produce and manage 2D and 3D models using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer, and Civil 3D
Assist in the development of design documentation packages for tender and construction, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements
Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams (drainage, structures, traffic, utilities) to integrate design elements across large infrastructure projects
Support design reviews, model audits, and drawing checks to maintain high-quality deliverables
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project delivery timelines

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated experience as a Civil/Roads Drafter working on WA road or highway projects, ideally with exposure to MRWA standards
Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D highly regarded
Strong understanding of road geometry, drainage, and earthworks modelling
Experience producing detailed design and construction drawings within infrastructure projects
A TAFE qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering Design or similar
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
