About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of hydraulic and water infrastructure projects across New Zealand
  • Build and calibrate hydraulic models for water and wastewater networks
  • Analyse transmission systems – rising mains, gravity mains, pump stations, and storage
  • Deliver modelling and design solutions for transmission pipelines, pump stations and utility networks
  • Integrate model outputs into concept and detailed design deliverables
  • Prepare technical reports and modelling summaries for a non-technical audience
  • Collaborate across disciplines to deliver constructible, sustainable solutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 4-6 years’ experience in hydraulic modelling and network design for water or wastewater utility projects across planning and design phases
  • Strong understanding of water networks, pipelines (pressurized and gravity systems), pump stations and system operations
  • Experience with InfoWorks ICM / WS Pro, DHI MIKE URBAN software
  • Experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS/QGIS, and model calibration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desirable to have familiarity with New Zealand water utility standards for modelling and design (Watercare or equivalent).
