About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the design and delivery of hydraulic and water infrastructure projects across New Zealand
- Build and calibrate hydraulic models for water and wastewater networks
- Analyse transmission systems – rising mains, gravity mains, pump stations, and storage
- Deliver modelling and design solutions for transmission pipelines, pump stations and utility networks
- Integrate model outputs into concept and detailed design deliverables
- Prepare technical reports and modelling summaries for a non-technical audience
- Collaborate across disciplines to deliver constructible, sustainable solutions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
- 4-6 years’ experience in hydraulic modelling and network design for water or wastewater utility projects across planning and design phases
- Strong understanding of water networks, pipelines (pressurized and gravity systems), pump stations and system operations
- Experience with InfoWorks ICM / WS Pro, DHI MIKE URBAN software
- Experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS/QGIS, and model calibration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Desirable to have familiarity with New Zealand water utility standards for modelling and design (Watercare or equivalent).
