About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and technical coordination of complex mission-critical data centre facilities across multiple engineering disciplines.
Guide configuration, resilience strategy and system integration across electrical, mechanical, ICT and architectural systems.
Oversee development and review of concept designs, detailed engineering and technical documentation.
Ensure designs meet stringent requirements for reliability, redundancy, efficiency and constructability.
Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across concurrent projects.
Facilitate design workshops, technical reviews and risk assessments.
Act as a trusted technical partner to clients, supporting strategic design decisions and project delivery.
Support the continued growth of Aurecon’s Digital Infrastructure capability through pursuits, innovation and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Architectural Engineering or a related field.
10+ years’ experience delivering mission-critical facilities, ideally including hyperscale or enterprise data centres.
Strong technical understanding of mission-critical infrastructure systems:
High-density electrical distribution
Cooling systems and thermal management
Redundancy and resilience architectures (N+1, 2N etc.)
ICT and network infrastructure
Integrated building services systems
Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on technically complex projects.
Strong capability in reviewing, developing and delivering high-quality technical designs and data centre configurations.
Experience coordinating complex multidisciplinary teams across large-scale technical projects.
Experience in client side or large consulting environments within leading engineering consultancies, data centre developers, contractors or specialist mission-critical design firms.
High-level communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a strong drive for technical excellence and innovation.
Eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence Baseline Security Clearance is desirable.
