About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and deliver civil engineering design across complex built ‑ environment projects, including site development, drainage, pavements and access
  • Prepare and review civil design outputs, drawings and specifications, ensuring quality, compliance and constructability
  • Resolve design gaps and coordinate interfaces across disciplines within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Apply engineering judgement to address complex technical challenges on constrained sites
  • Support and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and constructive feedback
  • Contribute to planning and resourcing of design packages or workstreams within larger projects
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and project teams to support positive client outcomes
  • Promote safe, sustainable and compliant engineering design in line with industry standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience as a civil engineer within the built environment, ideally in a consultancy environment
  • Proven capability delivering civil design on building ‑ led or precinct projects rather than council ‑ focused planning works
  • Experience supporting or leading components of large, complex projects
  • Defence or defence ‑ adjacent project experience is desirable but not essential
  • Proficiency with standard civil engineering design software (e.g. 12D, Civil 3D or similar)
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Confidence working across multiple stakeholders and managing priorities
  • Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Working toward, or eligibility for, professional engineering accreditation is advantageous
