About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead stormwater projects from master planning to detailed design and construction
- Act as the key client contact, building strong and lasting relationships
- Collaborate across disciplines to align with client goals, regulations, and best practices
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to deliver quality outcomes
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
- Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10–15 years’ experience (within a consultancy or client organisation)
- Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Natural Resources Engineering
- Professional accreditation is desirable
- Strong commercial acumen
- Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Significant stormwater design experience
- Knowledge of modelling and GIS software
- Familiarity with 12d Water Network Editor, Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA), Hec-Ras, TuFlow, InfoWorks ICM, or other hydraulic modelling suites
- Strong understanding of New Zealand’s regulatory environment
