About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide civil engineering leadership across a portfolio of Wind, Solar and BESS projects in Queensland, overseeing delivery from a civil engineering lens.
  • Guide the planning, design and coordination of civil infrastructure including access tracks, roads, pavements, hardstands, foundations interfaces, drainage and associated infrastructure that underpins renewable generation assets.
  • Lead civil design packages across renewable energy projects from concept through to detailed design.
  • Coordinate closely with offshore delivery teams, ensuring alignment, quality and technical excellence.
  • Integrate multidisciplinary teams across the business (structural, electrical, geotechnical, transmission, environmental and advisory) to achieve seamless project outcomes.
  • Manage interfaces between civil works and key energy infrastructure, including wind turbine generators, solar arrays, BESS facilities and substations.
  • Support constructability, staging, and contractor engagement through practical, buildable solutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated experience delivering civil design for renewable energy projects, particularly Wind, Solar and/or BESS developments.
  • Strong technical capability in tracks, access roads, pavements, hardstands and site civil infrastructure, including earthworks and drainage design.
  • Experience coordinating civil interfaces with transmission lines, substations and wind farm infrastructure (highly regarded).
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate with offshoring or distributed design teams, maintaining quality and programme alignment.
  • Experience integrating multidisciplinary inputs to achieve holistic project outcomes across large-scale infrastructure programs.
  • Sound understanding of relevant Australian standards, design guidelines and client requirements in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Ability to engage confidently with developers, contractors, OEMs, transmission providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including scope management, programme coordination and contribution to bids and proposals.
  • Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering (Chartered status or working toward is highly regarded).
