About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join our Water Utilities team, providing design leadership for medium-sized civil engineering projects.
- Lead civil design for municipal water and wastewater treatment infrastructure; apply hydraulic engineering principles.
- Provide engineering guidance and quality assurance across all deliverables generated by junior engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Manage design packages for medium-sized projects or facilities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Utilize digital design tools such as Plant 3D, Civil 3D, 12D, AutoCAD, Revit for design management and execution.
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment across project teams and clients.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 7+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in design management of medium-sized projects or packages/facilities
- Proven track record as civil design lead in municipal water and wastewater treatment infrastructure
- Expertise in networks design and pumping systems (water & wastewater)
- Solid understanding of hydraulic engineering for open channel and closed conduit systems
- Ability to instruct and mentor junior engineers, designers, and drafters, providing guidance and quality assurance
- Experience using Plant 3D, Civil 3D, 12D, AutoCAD, Revit (any of the listed)
- Experience in detailed design and construction is advantage
- Knowledge of Australian water industry standards and codes is advantage
- Strong internal and external stakeholder communication and management skills
