The senior designer will plan, coordinate, and perform complex assignments under minimal direction.
Includes discussions with engineers on design parameters, intent, and project functions.
Use CAD applications to perform assigned tasks.
Designing devices, components, apparatus, systems or equipment, multi-layer printed circuit boards, flex circuits and cables, systems or equipment layout of rigid, multilayer, flex, rigid-flex, analog, digital, radio frequency (RF), mixed-signal boards.
Provide schematic capture and Bill of Material (BOM) generation.
Establish design criteria for impedance control.
Assuring conformance with established requirements during development and manufacture.
Planning for and incorporating requirements in proposals, specifications, and drawings.
Undertake assignments as a working group leader, coordinating and checking the efforts of supporting designers and detailers.
Requirements
Must be a US Citizen
Due to the sensitive nature of the work being performed, a candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level clearance or a DOD SCI level clearance.
Associate Degree (BS desired) in Drafting or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology from a Community College or an accredited Technical Institute plus a minimum of 10 years of Design level experience.
Specialized experience may be substituted for Technical Institute or Community College training on a two-for-one basis respectively, i.e., four (4) years of applicable experience is equivalent to a two (2) year Associate Degree.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Drafting or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology plus 8 years of design level experience.
2-4 years’ experience with PTC Windchill PDMLink, Autodesk Inventor, Bentley Microstation, or Mentor Graphics DxDesigner for Expedition.
Support of CAD based libraries.
Assembly management/manufacturing and DFM techniques.
Efficient use of the suite of Microsoft Office products.
Able to work within the confines and restrictions of a classified environment including basic understanding of multi process environment for releasing CAD data encompassing classified, unclassified, weapon related and non-weapon related work.
Ability to manage multiple customers/jobs at the same time.
