About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Teach welding courses as a part-time instructor
Conduct class lectures
Plan lessons
Manage the classroom
Evaluate students’ progress toward goals and objectives
Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate
Prepare and maintain required documentation and administrative reports
Ensure safety and security requirements in classroom and laboratory areas
Assist with student recruitment and retention efforts
Maximize student placements in Welding or a related field
Perform other duties assigned by the Department Head or Program Dean
Teach at multiple Savannah Technical College campus locations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Diploma in Welding from an accredited community college or technical school preferred
Three (3) years of welding work experience within the past seven (7) years
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Computer skills
Current American Welding Society Certification strongly preferred
Teaching experience at a postsecondary institution strongly desired
Underwater welding experience/certification preferred
Must be able to work evening hours
Must be able to work at multiple Savannah Technical College campus locations in Savannah/Chatham, Liberty and Effingham Counties
Candidates must pass a criminal background check
