Key responsibilities & impact

Review unemployment insurance fraudulent and non-fraudulent claimant overpayment cases for compliance with applicable program regulations
Gather pertinent documents and evidence to support cases
Analyze findings and determine whether evidence is sufficient to support prosecution
Assist in preparing cases for collection, criminal prosecution, or civil action
Testify as necessary in administrative hearings or court proceedings
Negotiate and monitor repayment agreements with non-fraudulent claimants
Proceed with court action upon repayment default

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma/GED
Completion of 90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours in criminal justice or a related field
Three years of experience in the related area
Equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications may substitute year-over-year
Preferred: Four years of unemployment insurance benefits experience
Preferred: Two years of experience determining program eligibility
Preferred: Two years of experience filing civil actions to collect debt
Preferred: One year of experience processing and rendering benefit overpayment determinations
