About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Register retail locations and verify advertised product, pump, and method of sale correspondence
- Verify correct fuel-product pricing on road signage, placards, and pumps
- Check antifreeze brands to ensure state fuel-laboratory registration
- Test fuel dispensers for volume and monetary accuracy according to established procedures
- Collect, transport, and submit fuel samples and prescribed reports to the State Fuel Lab
- Respond to complaints and requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Inspect underground and above-ground storage tanks for identification, water, contaminants, and cap seals
- Take appropriate corrective action when storage-tank issues are identified
- Attend required meetings and training seminars
- Maintain the State vehicle and associated equipment
- Conduct public-facing business with a consistent, high-quality, customer-focused orientation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must reside in Lawrenceville, Dacula, Loganville, Norcross, or Snellville, or be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory
- High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in the area of assignment; or two (2) years of college including 12 semester hours or 20 quarter hours in chemistry or life sciences
- Valid Georgia driver’s license required
- Clean driving record
- Communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- General knowledge of Windows operating system and basic computer skills
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and intermittently walk, squat, kneel, or drive
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. for short periods
- Successful employment verification, background and criminal-record investigations, and motor-vehicle reports required
- Must maintain the State vehicle and all job-related equipment
