About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You will take on diverse and responsible tasks at the heart of our IT: the central mainframe applications of the Account Base squad and their numerous technical interfaces.
- One focus of your role is the technical conception, design and quality-conscious software development of complex mainframe applications to secure our core processes.
- You will maintain, optimize and further develop existing mainframe systems and ensure performant connectivity to modern cloud and frontend solutions (APIs).
- To make our central core banking systems more stable and future-proof every day, you contribute your deep technical knowledge as an active member of an agile team (Scrum) and proactively engage with architectural topics.
- You accompany the entire software lifecycle: from automated test case creation and provision of test data, through test documentation, to final deployment to production to safeguard our high quality standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed vocational training with many years of professional experience (e.g., IT specialist in application development) or a completed degree in (business) computer science or a comparable technical qualification with solid practical experience.
- Deep knowledge of mainframe development (e.g., COBOL, PL/I, JCL, DB2 or IMS) and experience with common mainframe development tools; ideally you have experience in the banking/finance sector and with Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Fluent German skills (at least C1) and good English skills (at least B2).
- You are passionate about IT, analytically strong, detail-oriented and willing to understand and modernize complex legacy structures.
- You demonstrate a high level of commitment, have a pronounced quality and responsibility awareness for highly available systems and work independently.
- You are a solution-oriented team player with good communication skills at the interfaces between the mainframe world and modern software architectures.
