About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Telecom Electrical Engineer designs, installs, and maintains the electrical and electronic infrastructure supporting voice, data, and video networks.
  • Develop electrical schematics, power distribution plans, and structural layouts for cell towers, data centers, switching stations, and fiber optic networks.
  • Drive the installation, managing, and maintenance of critical power equipment, including DC power systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), and generator types.
  • Engineer resilient power distribution systems, DC plants, UPS configurations, and backup generation.
  • Drive the integration of renewable energy sources into remote cell sites.
  • Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging technologies.
  • Run diagnostic tests on signal strength, latency, and bandwidth to minimize lag and prevent outages.
  • Ensure all equipment complies with federal telecommunications and electrical safety regulations.
  • Identify root causes of electrical or signal faults and implement infrastructure upgrades.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-5+ years in Electrical Engineering or other related field.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience with transformers, generators, and circuit breakers.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and diagnostic tools to optimize network performance.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, challenge conventional methodologies, and identify new opportunities for infrastructure optimization.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience with project management and budgeting.
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Proficiency in technical report writing.
  • Experience with system simulations and modeling.
  • Ability to perform site inspections and assessments.
  • Commitment to safety and reliability.
  • Experience with renewable energy systems is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
