About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement and lead the strategic category management methodology, ensuring a medium- and long-term perspective and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical categories based on market, cost and operational and financial risk analysis.
  • Reduce emergency purchases, reactive approvals and stockouts through planning and governance of the categories under responsibility.
  • Foster strategic supplier engagement, seeking innovation, competitiveness and sustainable partnerships.
  • Conduct complex negotiations aimed at maximizing value and increasing the company’s negotiating power.
  • Ensure the actual realization of cost savings and value creation across the supply chain.
  • Perform market analyses (benchmarking, should-cost and TCO - Total Cost of Ownership) to support strategic decisions.
  • Work in partnership with internal areas (Warehouse/Stores, Planning, Engineering, Operations, Finance) to properly align demand and strategies.
  • Monitor category and supplier performance indicators (KPIs), mitigating risks and ensuring alternative sources and contingency plans when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain the category book, standardizing processes, strategies and best practices for the category.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Solid experience in Procurement, Strategic Purchasing or Strategic Sourcing.
  • Knowledge of international markets and import processes.
  • Proven experience in purchasing spare parts, OEM components and mining equipment in areas such as crushing and flotation, among others.
  • Experience in commercial negotiations with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Experience preparing, negotiating and managing supply contracts (LTAs - Long-Term Agreements).
  • Experience running competitive procurement processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP) and Strategic Sourcing.
  • Experience in an industrial environment, preferably mining, steel, cement, pulp and paper, oil & gas or related sectors.
  • Experience managing supplier performance indicators (KPIs and SLAs).
  • Familiarity with management systems/ERPs (Datasul).
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
