About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor
  • Meet student achievement, school culture, and state academic accountability goals
  • Deliver live lessons via web conference using research-based instructional practices
  • Set up courses in the Learning Management System
  • Monitor asynchronous course progress and provide daily assignment feedback and grades
  • Track and maintain contact with each student
  • Collaborate with the Principal on student progress reports
  • Review student-level data and adjust instructional programs
  • Differentiate instruction for all students
  • Use research-based practices in synchronous and asynchronous instruction
  • Create a joyful, caring, and supportive classroom environment
  • Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into lessons and interactions
  • Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
  • Communicate with families about students’ academic and social-emotional growth
  • Incorporate 21st-century technology skills into classroom and team practices
  • Plan and implement social events, field trips, and other non-instructional activities; attend them in person
  • Collaborate and communicate with colleagues
  • Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current state teaching license in the appropriate content area
  • Knowledge of state standards and Common Core Standards
  • Two years’ teaching experience preferred
  • Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred
  • Must be a resident of Missouri
