About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor
- Work toward student achievement, school culture, and state-specific academic accountability goals
- Deliver live lessons via web conference using research-based instructional practices
- Set up courses in the Learning Management System
- Monitor asynchronous student progress and provide daily feedback and grades
- Track and maintain contact with each student
- Collaborate with the Principal on student progress reports
- Review student data to adjust instruction
- Differentiate instruction for all students
- Apply research-based practices in synchronous and asynchronous instruction
- Create a joyful, caring, and supportive classroom environment
- Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices
- Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
- Communicate with families about students’ academic and social-emotional growth
- Incorporate 21st-century technology skills into classroom and team practice
- Plan and implement non-instructional activities, including social events and field trips, and attend them in person
- Collaborate and communicate with colleagues
- Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current state teaching license in the appropriate content area
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
- Two years’ teaching experience preferred
- Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook
- Ability to properly manage confidential information
- Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time
- Ability to supervise students in all school settings
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred
