About the role

  • Draft, review, and negotiate sponsorship, media sales, marketing, and broadcasting contracts including endorsement, appearance, trading card, memorabilia, licensing, and event sponsorship agreements.
  • Work on behalf of athletes, coaches, broadcasters, other celebrities, and company-owned events.
  • Collaborate directly with Talent Marketing, Properties, Media Sales, and Broadcasting division staff under supervision of the Associate General Counsel.
  • Assist the Associate General Counsel and General Counsel with various internal and external legal matters as needed.
  • Manage and maintain contract submission, tracking, and filing system.
  • Report to the Associate General Counsel; full-time position based in New York, NY or Laguna Hills, CA.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Member of New York or California State Bar (or other major state bar association) preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney at a law firm or in an in-house legal department.
  • Experience at a top-tier law firm preferred.
  • Experience in sports or entertainment law preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, internal business partners, and counterparties.
  • Demonstrated dedication with the ability to independently lead projects from origin through execution.
  • Ability to work full-time hours, which includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
