About the role
- Join our dynamic team at ATACO Steel Products Corp, a leader in metal stamping and fabrication. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Engineer to support our growth and drive improvements in our quoting process. Analyze historical company data related to work-center capabilities and capacity Collect quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Prepare detailed cost estimates utilizing Paperless Parts and other software templates to meet our objective of a 24-hour turnaround time. Plan, hand-off, and delegate awarded new programs as necessary. Communicate project status to customers effectively. Develop and maintain accurate procedural documents. Spend significant time in the plant to understand production processes and ensure accurate quotes. Participate in other engineering activities during slower periods. Help develop our ability to outsource part of the quoting process. Recommend and implement software solutions to streamline and automate the quoting process.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel. Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Demonstrated initiative and excitement to drive change and continuous improvement. Comfortable spending time in a manufacturing plant. Adhere to ATACO Amazing Fundamentals Familiarity with cost estimating and using Paperless Parts estimating software. Experience in a metal stamping or fabrication facility (preferred but not required)
