About the role
- Design and build scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage
- Develop and maintain data infrastructure, including databases, data lakes, and warehouses
- Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Ensure data quality through validation, cleansing, and monitoring processes
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance standards for data handling
- Collaborate with source system developers, data scientists, analysts, and business teams to deliver structured datasets
- Monitor and troubleshoot data systems, resolving issues promptly
- Automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency through scripting and tooling
- Create and maintain clear documentation
- Define and enforce coding standards and operational guidelines
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies and recommend improvements for scalability and performance
- Document incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data engineering
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and their implementation is beneficial
- Proficient spoken and written English and German
- Intercultural competence due to international collaboration
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Documentation skills — able to clearly summarize and document processes and validation results
