About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operation of the cut off equipment of the tube mill to ensure continuous operation during the shift
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized work area, 5S
  • Cross Training of team members on parts programming and mill set ups
  • TPM of process and equipment in the area
  • Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
  • Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products
  • Minimize scrap
  • Work with maintenance hands on to get issues resolved in a timely manner

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in using special measuring devices, micrometer, calipers, tape measure
  • Must be able to read set up charts supplied by OEM and interpret them to roll tooling adjustments
  • Change out cut off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment
  • Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames of scheduling
  • Must be able to document down time through seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
  • Good communication skills with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product
  • Ability to think and react to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
  • Ability to be a contributing and valued team member for continuous improvement activities
