About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead project planning, scheduling, task breakdown, progress tracking and on-site execution for manufacturing and industrialization projects.
- Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, required resources, risk points and action plans to ensure timely completion.
- Monitor project status closely and escalate issues proactively when timing, cost, quality or safety are at risk.
- Support project budget preparation, quotation comparison, investment justification, timeline control and final handover.
- Coordinate new machine installation, line set-up, utility connection, machine relocation, balancing and commissioning activities.
- Ensure equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures and layout conditions are ready for safe and stable operation.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to complete FAT/SAT, debugging, process verification and acceptance activities.
- Support preparation of maintenance handover, spare part list, machine manuals and operation standards.
- Support new product introduction, model transfer, pilot build and trial run activities from project kick-off to mass production readiness.
- Drive closure of open technical issues found during trial runs and ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented.
- Work with Quality and Production teams to achieve a stable start-up with required yield, cycle time and output targets.
- Drive projects to improve productivity, quality, cost, material flow, ergonomics and manufacturing stability.
- Evaluate opportunities in layout optimization, automation, poka-yoke, tooling improvement and cycle time reduction.
- Coordinate engineering changes and ensure technical updates are implemented in a controlled and timely manner.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives with clear technical analysis and practical execution follow-up.
- Work effectively with Production, Engineering, Quality, PMC, Warehouse, Purchasing, EHS and R&D to align project actions.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors and regional / overseas stakeholders to ensure technical and timeline alignment.
- Communicate project progress, open points and decisions clearly through meetings, reports and action trackers.
- Prepare and maintain project plans, status reports, risk registers, meeting minutes, open point lists and implementation trackers.
- Analyse project-related data such as cycle time, output, defect trend, downtime, manpower impact, capacity and investment payback.
- Provide accurate project updates and recommendations to management for decision making.
- Ensure all project activities comply with company requirements on safety, quality, environment and internal procedures.
- Support documentation control for technical documents, standards, validation records and project closure files.
- Participate in internal audits, process reviews and quality improvement actions when required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, or other related technical fields.
- At least 2–5 years of working experience in Project Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or similar roles in a factory environment.
- Experience in machine installation, line set-up, factory project execution, product transfer, NPI or automation projects is preferred.
- Experience in mechanical manufacturing, machining, die-casting, assembly or metal-product manufacturing is an advantage.
- Experience working in an international manufacturing company is a plus.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, layout planning, machine commissioning, trial run management and mass production readiness.
- Strong project coordination skills with good follow-up, problem solving and risk management capability.
- Ability to read technical drawings, process documents and equipment / tooling requirements.
- Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, SOP/Work Instruction, capacity analysis and process validation is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of BOM, routing and ERP-controlled manufacturing processes is an advantage.
