About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and develop control systems for large scale door systems
  • Conduct system testing and validation procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and operation manuals
  • Ensure compliance with UL, other industry standards and safety regulations
  • Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments
  • Train personnel on the use and operation of control systems
  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates
  • Integrate new technologies into existing systems
  • Participate in the commissioning and start-up of new equipment
  • Provide technical support and expertise to other departments as needed
  • Analyze data from control systems to improve processes and efficiency
  • Collaborate with purchasing, vendors, and suppliers for equipment and software purchases

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (experience in lieu of degree will be considered)
  • Proven experience in controls engineering or a similar role
  • Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of HMI systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Familiarity with industrial networking protocols and standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using CAD software for control system design
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on experience with automation and/or robotics
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance
