About the role
- Assign employees as required to ensure compliance with production schedule demands
- Ensure all employees have sufficient training and instruction to satisfactorily meet the Safety and Quality requirements for all assigned operations.
- Works closely with employees including set-up personnel and Quality and Manufacturing Engineering, to ensure requirements are understood and met.
- Tracks employee performance to established standards and Company requirements and provides feedback on performance within a timely manner.
- Provides employees with counseling as necessary or corrective disciplinary action per Company Policy.
- Reviews and approves assigned employees timecards daily.
- Responsible to provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering on method or rate issues.
- Audit employee’s quality and compliance to established work methods.
- Provides feedback or corrective action if necessary.
- Lead continuous improvement activities for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Ensures proper housekeeping is maintained in their area and ensures compliance with 5S goals.
- Troubleshoots and resolves mechanical issues related to automated manufacturing equipment.
- Coordinates as a team member with other Production and support functions to ensure compliance to plant schedules.
- Professional department is a key factor in maintaining employee morale and must be maintained at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Profit Center Manager.
Requirements
- Experience in supervision in a manufacturing environment required.
- B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or other applicable Engineering Discipline required.
- A degree Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Two to five years in manufacturing supervision.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees in group or individual meetings on such matters as departmental goals, work assignments, quality, safety, manufacturing problems, attendance, work performance, discipline, training, etc, and to maintain related records.
- Ability to meet deadlines and schedules in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with automated manufacturing equipment and/or robotics preferred.
