About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Overall responsibility for finance and accounting, including the continuous optimization and digitization of all accounting processes
Functional and disciplinary leadership and development of a team of specialists
Optimization of structures and processes across the entire finance function
Preparation and production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
Preparation of annual financial statements for the parent company and, where applicable, group subsidiaries
Ensuring all accounting for the parent company and, where applicable, group subsidiaries
Point of contact for accounting/financial reporting issues and questions relating to tax law
Preparation of monthly VAT returns
Preparation of external and internal reporting
Management and optimization of payment transactions as well as result-oriented processes in accounts payable and accounts receivable management
Establishment, further development and ownership of KPI-based financial management
Controlling based on cost and performance accounting for the E-Commerce / Financial area in coordination with executive management
Trusted advisor to executive management for strategic decisions in short- and long-term planning
Point of contact for shareholders, auditors, tax advisors, banks, insurers and authorities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree in business administration with a focus on finance/controlling/accounting or a comparable qualification (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter / Steuerfachwirt)
Several years of relevant professional experience in finance and accounting, ideally in e-commerce or a retail/trading environment
Proven leadership experience and enthusiasm for developing a team
Confident in financial reporting under HGB; experience with consolidated financial statements is an advantage
Knowledge of relevant tax law
Strong affinity for metrics and data-driven management
Confident in building, analyzing and interpreting financial KPIs
High IT and digitization affinity
Proficient in DATEV and/or common ERP/accounting systems
Analytical, structured and entrepreneurial mindset; hands-on and solution-oriented
Business-fluent German (negotiation-level)
Good English is an advantage
