About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • support planning, analysis, and performance management of Arlington County’s transit services.
  • collaborate with planners, operations staff, and external stakeholders to analyze service performance;
  • develop data‑informed recommendations;
  • support initiatives that improve transit reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation, urban planning, logistics, public administration, business administration, or a related field;
  • Considerable experience supporting transit, transportation, or service analysis, planning, or operations.
  • Additional qualifying experience can be substituted for the educational requirement. A Master's degree or higher may be substituted for some of the experience requirement.
  • Preference may be given to applicants that possess experience or licensure in one or more of the following:
  • - Transit service planning, operations analysis, or performance measurement;
  • - Preparing reports, maps, or presentations for planning or public engagement purposes;
  • - Analyzing and visualizing data using spreadsheets, databases, or GIS tools;
  • - Knowledge of regional transit systems or local government operations;
  • - Managing multiple priorities and coordinating across internal and external stakeholders;
  • - A current valid Driver's License.
