About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Embed outstanding teaching, feedback, and assessment practices to support students’ learning, progression, and attainment
Develop inspiring and engaging course content, including physical and virtual learning resources and delivery
Deliver outstanding departmental continuation and completion rates
Set programme curricula that provide skills, knowledge, and behaviours for managerial or professional employment or further study
Line manage Senior Lecturers and potentially other academic team members
Recruit outstanding academic staff
Potentially undertake teaching and related duties on relevant programmes
Represent the University and its values at external and internal events
Promote Arden University and its programmes
Collaborate with academic colleagues and key stakeholders
Lead the Accounting and Finance department to achieve outstanding Student Experience and Student Outcomes
Develop high-performing academic teams and support teaching, learning, research, and industry-focused activities

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience managing relationships with PSRBs, including ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CFA and IFA
Experience building and managing relationships with industry partners, including Financial Services, Banking and Commercial Organisations
Experience leading a portfolio of Accounting and Finance programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Masters’ level qualification relevant to the School
Recognised HE teaching qualification and/or Fellowship, such as PG Cert HE, SFHEA, PFHEA, QTLS/QTS Secondary
Relevant industry experience within the business world, including business development
Demonstrated ability to harness and develop team talents
Demonstrated leadership, people management, motivation, and team-building skills
Successful track record leading academic programmes at different levels and modes of study
Experience ensuring programmes deliver high Student Experience, Student Outcomes, and Student Satisfaction
PhD or other Level 7 qualification (desirable)
Management training/qualification demonstrating the ability to lead others (desirable)
Ability to travel to the closest Arden campus approximately once a week, subject to business needs
