Underwriting Counsel, NJ/PA
Ardán®Underwriting Counsel providing underwriting support and guidance for title insurance. Working closely with clients and internal teams to ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides underwriting support and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customer(s)
- Examine title orders within company guidelines
- Research respective title plant software and analyze pertinent record documents
- Explain chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers and managers
- Recognize title defects and formulate curative solutions
- Assess risks and liabilities and bring these matters to attention
- Review surveys prepared on properties, if applicable
- Work closely with the customer and escrow staff to meet time requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years title underwriting experience
- Must be familiar with real estate law
- Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of real estate title and settlement process
- General knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services
- General understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for the issuance of title insurance policies
- Ability to collaborate and act decisively
- Detail oriented
