About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • As a Retirement Plan Advisor at Aprio, you are responsible for sales and service of startup and smaller plans.
  • You will be a key part of the team providing our clients comprehensive services that affect the business owner and their employees directly.
  • You will use your knowledge of investments, plan design, employee education tactics, fiduciary risk mitigation and general retirement plan consulting to execute our process to both advise current clients and drive new client acquisition, primarily from internal referrals.
  • Grow retirement plan services book of business in assigned regions, in line with Aprio’s 2030 goal.
  • Lead retirement plan opportunities in conjunction with Aprio Relationship Partner.
  • Educate Partners and staff on our proven, process driven approach to servicing retirement plans and value proposition.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with clients by earning trust, thoroughly understanding client needs, providing targeted advice, developing thoughtful solutions and delivering an exceptional client experience.
  • Advise clients on their retirement plan investments and provide quarterly investment reports for all Retirement Plan Services clients.
  • Guide clients through Aprio RPS processes for the creation of Investment, Fee and Education Policy Statements.
  • Ensure ongoing selection, monitoring and replacement of investment options follows written Investment Policy Statement.
  • Complete plan review for clients and prospects, conduct meetings in-person or via Zoom / other similar methods.
  • Facilitate client plan review meetings, organize meeting minutes, follow up regarding meetings and respond to client and internal partner inquiries.
  • Drive business results and acquire new assets, both from existing client base and new client acquisition in line with annual goals.
  • Exhibit technical knowledge and competency in investment management, plan design, compliance rules and regulations, and fiduciary risk mitigation.
  • Partner with internal advisors to provide interdisciplinary expertise to clients.
  • Dynamic and credible professional who communicates with clarity and has exceptional presentation skills.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • C(k)P® designation, or willing to achieve within a year.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in Retirement Plan Services for an RIA, Wealth Management Firm or other industry provider.
  • Series 65 license required for position; however, unlicensed candidates considered but required to obtain licenses within 120 days of start date.
  • Able to gain and maintain the respect of high net worth clients.
  • Excellent knowledge of retirement industry, providers, services and investments.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects successfully.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and skilled problem solver.
  • Strong listening, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, takes initiative, and uses critical thinking to solve problems.
  • Proven capability to work in a team environment.
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel with experience in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of retirement industry software including Fi360 and Plan Comparator.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit.
