About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Reviews the correctness and completeness of the weekly work, which includes bills processing and bank transaction coding, and monthly work prepared by the Associate Accountant.
- Prepares month end closing tasks and year end reviews
- Ensures all weekly and monthly responsibilities of the Associate accountant are being done diligently.
- Performs initial and/or final review of monthly and/or quarterly management reports.
- Provide Accounting and Technical support to Accounting Associate(s); train or guide the Accounting Associate(s) where needed.
- Handles new and complicated tasks, client onboarding, clean up and catch-up work, seasonal tasks (such as 1099 and audit support), and creation or maintenance of accounting work papers.
- Preparation of process documents and works together with the Manager on process improvements.
- Attend to Manager/Project Manager/Client’s questions, concerns, or issues.
- Work with the Manager on people management – team’s capacity, performance evaluation, staff concerns, interviews for new hire, employee onboarding, etc
- In the absence of the Associate, Senior accountant assumes the responsibility of the Associate
- In the absence of the Manager, can perform as the leader of the team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in accounting is required.
- CPA License: Holding a CPA license is advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in the BPO industry.
- Software Proficiency: Required experience with XERO, and BILL. QBO and Netsuite is a plus
- Client Experience: Preference for candidates with experience managing Profesional Services clients
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to thrive in a hybrid team setting, adept at using platforms such as Teams and email to collaborate with colleagues. The role involves extensive communication, as it involves direct engagement with clients
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading projects or teams, mentoring junior staff, and managing client relationships.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address technical and interpersonal challenges effectively.
- Client Management: Proven ability to manage multiple clients successfully.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Amenable to work day shift starting from 6:30 AM-3:30 PM PHT
- Work Setup: Hybrid – Initial 2 months onsite, followed by a hybrid schedule of 2 days onsite and 3 days work-from-home per week.
