About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and existing clients
- Prepare, submit, and monitor insurance authorizations and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate insurance and authorization information in the electronic health record
- Support billing by ensuring authorizations align with scheduled services
- Communicate with insurance carriers regarding authorizations, benefits, and payer requirements
- Research claim issues and assist with billing documentation and follow-up
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
- Partner with the Insurance & Billing Manager and clinical teams to support timely client services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must reside in New Hampshire
- Available to work Eastern Standard Time business hours
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One or more years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, revenue cycle, or healthcare administration
- Experience with commercial insurance and/or Medicaid preferred
- Experience in ABA, behavioral health, or pediatric healthcare is a plus but not required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with EHR systems, preferably RethinkBH, is a plus
- Dedicated, quiet, and professional workspace
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential information while working remotely
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive problem-solving and strong critical thinking skills
- Dependable and professional, with commitment to confidentiality
