Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build and operate backend services in C#/.NET and Python, including APIs, data pipelines and integration services
Work on medical imaging backends using DICOM/DICOMweb and NIFTI
Support real-time data flows to XR clients, focusing on reliability, latency and session stability
Containerize and ship services via Docker/Kubernetes, including workflow orchestration such as Argo Workflows and CI/CD
Build observability and security through structured logging/metrics and SBOM/SOUP hygiene
Maintain compatibility with EU MDR, IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 requirements, risk linkage and traceability
Review code, mentor peers and help shape backend architecture and engineering standards
Collaborate with XR engineering, clinical stakeholders and Quality/Regulatory
Build software powering apoQlar’s HoloMedicine® Mixed and Augmented Reality medical platform

Requirements

What you’ll need

Several years’ professional experience building backend services in C#/.NET
Solid working command of Python
Strong grasp of API design, distributed systems and data modeling
Ability to reason about architecture, trade-offs and performance as a peer
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes; cloud experience is a plus
Comfortable with relational and/or document databases, async messaging and integration patterns
Pragmatic approach to testing, CI/CD and code quality
Knowledge of medical imaging, DICOM, DICOMweb, FHIR and NIFTI
Fluent in English
German is a plus
Experience with regulated medical software such as EU MDR, IEC 62304, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 is nice to have
Real-time media/streaming experience with WebRTC and TURN/ICE is nice to have
Familiarity with Grafana/Prometheus/Loki and Dependency-Track, Trivy and CycloneDX is nice to have
Exposure to XR/AR/VR platforms or a clinical environment is nice to have
