About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects
  • Steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering
  • Calculation development, steel shop drawing reviews, submittal preparation, RFI development, and new calculation development
  • Utilize analysis software programs such as Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit
  • Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design, connection design, and shop drawing reviews
  • Maintain oversight of project schedules, resource planning, and mitigation for all connection engineering tasks
  • Collaborate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and erectors

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
  • Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus
  • PE certification
  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience
  • An advanced understanding of relevant building codes, materials, and standards
  • Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Software skills with Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit are a plus
  • Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge and skills in steel construction
