About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Structural analysis for delegated steel connection design projects
- Steel connection design, miscellaneous steel design, and erection engineering
- Calculation development, steel shop drawing reviews, submittal preparation, RFI development, and new calculation development
- Utilize analysis software programs such as Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit
- Review 3-D BIM models to aid in building design, connection design, and shop drawing reviews
- Maintain oversight of project schedules, resource planning, and mitigation for all connection engineering tasks
- Collaborate with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and erectors
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering
- Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering is a plus
- PE certification
- 3+ years of structural engineering experience
- An advanced understanding of relevant building codes, materials, and standards
- Enthusiasm and desire to succeed and develop technical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Software skills with Ram Connection, RISA Connection, Excel, Idea Statica, BlueBeam, Trimble Connect, and Revit are a plus
- Attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills, and strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines
- Passion for steel design and growing professional knowledge and skills in steel construction
