About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering concept and feasibility studies, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop integrated technical solutions that meet customer requirements, APA standards, and investment gate expectations
- Drive study governance and gate readiness, ensuring all technical deliverables, assumptions, risks, and recommendations are thoroughly documented and approved
- Act as the primary technical interface between Engineering, Estimating, Bid Management, and key stakeholders to support commercial decision-making and project development activities
- Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of technical, safety, environmental, and constructability risks throughout the study lifecycle
- Lead the technical handover process to delivery teams, ensuring design intent, risks, assumptions, requirements, and key decisions are effectively communicated and transitioned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering concept, feasibility, or front-end studies within infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, utilities, resources, or related industries
- Strong technical leadership capabilities with the ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple workstreams and stakeholders and integrating technical artifacts into cohesive study outcomes
- Proven ability to develop technical solutions, evaluate design options, and provide recommendations that balance technical, commercial, operational, and risk considerations
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience collaborating across engineering, operations, project development, commercial, regulatory, and customer groups
- Sound understanding of project development processes, investment gate frameworks, risk management methodologies, and engineering governance requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline, with professional engineering accreditation and project/study management experience highly regarded.
