About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, development, and optimisation of process engineering solutions across APA's gas transmission, processing, and energy infrastructure projects.
- Provide specialist technical expertise to solve complex process engineering challenges, ensuring designs are safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant with relevant standards.
- Develop and review process engineering deliverables, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, heat and material balances, process calculations, and design documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and key stakeholders to deliver engineering projects from concept through to commissioning and operational handover.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, and optimisation to enhance asset performance, operational efficiency, and project outcomes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree qualified in Chemical or Process Engineering, with significant experience in process design within the oil & gas, energy, utilities, or a related heavy industry.
- Demonstrated experience developing and reviewing process engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, hydraulic calculations, and design documentation.
- Strong understanding of relevant Australian and international engineering standards, safety in design principles, and engineering governance.
- Proven ability to lead technical investigations, solve complex engineering problems, and provide expert advice across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence technical outcomes across projects and operations.
- Flexible and willing to travel regularly to site locations across multiple regions.
