About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assemble mechanical systems and structures based on technical drawings and 3D CAD models
Assemble and install prototypes to support research and development activities
Build electrical power distribution panels and electromechanical control panels
Fabricate cable assemblies and wire harnesses to required specifications
Route, organize, and secure cables for durability, reliability, and neatness
Perform light fabrication work, including drilling, cutting, and manual machining
Participate in the installation and commissioning of systems at client sites
Follow internal quality assurance and documentation procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

College diploma or vocational diploma in electromechanics, mechanics, manufacturing, or a related field, or 10+ years of relevant professional experience
5+ years of hands-on mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience in a professional setting
Valid driver’s licence
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work safely in a workshop environment
Strong fine-motor skills and manual dexterity
Ability to assemble systems based on mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
Experience with fabrication methods such as soldering, brazing, machining, or sheet-metal work is an asset
Experience assembling high-vacuum or cryogenic systems is an asset
Willingness and enthusiasm for learning new skills and techniques
Strong problem-solving abilities and a solutions-oriented mindset
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Ability to work methodically and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Ability to communicate effectively in English due to collaboration with international teams
