About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and implement robust data access control systems, including permission management, audit logging, IAM policies, ACLs, and security controls
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and warehouses for business-critical financial reporting
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability for financial systems and revenue, usage, and business metrics
  • Manage external relationships and upstream dependencies for third-party revenue ingestion pipelines
  • Architect disaster recovery, backup, and replication systems for petabyte-scale data
  • Ensure high availability and durability of cloud object storage and enable rapid data recovery
  • Scale data processing infrastructure using BigQuery, BigTable, Airflow, dbt, and Spark
  • Optimize query performance, manage costs, and enable self-service analytics across the organization
  • Set technical direction for teams and lead large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, business stakeholders, and technical and non-technical partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in a Software Engineer role, excluding internships or co-ops
  • Experience building data infrastructure, storage systems, or related distributed systems
  • 3+ years of experience leading large-scale, complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead, excluding internships or co-ops
  • Ability to set technical direction for a team
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or similar programming languages
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code, including Terraform or Pulumi
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS
  • Ability to navigate tradeoffs between performance, cost, security, and maintainability
  • Experience with security and compliance requirements such as ITGC, GDPR, and financial controls
  • Background in data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, or analytics infrastructure
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native architectures
  • Knowledge of column-oriented databases, OLAP systems, or big data processing frameworks
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or highly regulated environments may be beneficial
  • Security engineering background focused on data protection and access controls may be beneficial
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
  • Staff are expected to work from one of the company's offices at least 25% of the time
  • Visa sponsorship may be available depending on the role and candidate
