About the role

  • Oversee and monitor works (surface hydrogeological surveys, engineering supervision of underground works, deep surface boreholes, underground boreholes for scientific purposes)
  • Anticipate technical and HSE constraints
  • Provide operational oversight of drilling contractors: ensure correct execution of methods, verify compliance with plans and procedures, and manage interfaces between stakeholders
  • Ensure a very high level of safety during operations: apply and enforce HSE rules, and perform risk analyses
  • Control the quality of services: ensure compliance with technical standards, identify deviations and implement corrective actions, and perform comparative measurements
  • Provide technical reporting of services: track work progress, write daily reports, escalate incidents and propose corrective actions
  • Maintain a smooth, proactive client relationship on site: act as the client's primary contact, respond to inquiries, anticipate needs, and ensure client satisfaction

Requirements

  • Experienced site technician (works) or experienced works engineer
  • At least 10 years' experience on drilling sites or underground works projects
  • Varied experience across different types of works, ideally in drilling, geotechnical and hydrogeological projects, or underground works
  • Strong knowledge of site operations (technical, safety, quality, procedures)
  • Knowledge of drilling methods (selection of tools, parameters, process monitoring)
  • Solid knowledge in geotechnical engineering / geology / hydrogeology (soils, rock, borehole logging/diagraphy, piezometry)
  • Proficiency in site procedures: technical, safety, quality, regulatory compliance
  • Comfortable working on sensitive sites, with a strong HSE culture
  • Valid Category B driving licence required
