About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as primary point of contact for clients, coordinating and managing all aspects of freight transportation.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and carriers to facilitate the efficient movement of freight.
Utilize our state-of-the-art Transportation Management System (TMS), McLeod PowerBroker, to streamline operations and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of shipments.
Negotiate competitive rates with carriers and ensure timely and cost-effective freight transportation.
Collaborate with our experienced team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to provide knowledgeable and informed service to clients.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Possess a portable book of business with actively shipping customers, with a monthly gross profit minimum of $35,000, with established client and carrier relationships.
Proven experience, with 2 or more years, as an Independent Freight Agent or Broker.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficient in utilizing transportation management systems and technology.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
