About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and execute UAV surveys (RGB, LiDAR, Multispectral) and conventional GPS/GNSS surveys to produce DTMs, DSMs, and 3D models
  • Process raw data into orthophotos and point clouds; perform volume calculations, cut/fill analysis, and progress tracking
  • Maintain secure, version-controlled spatial repositories and ensure all flight operations meet national aviation regulatory standards
  • Coordinate flight missions to align with construction milestones, ensuring up-to-date spatial intelligence is delivered without disrupting site operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying, or GIS
  • Licensed/certified UAV operator (Remote Pilot License) - preferred
  • 3-5 years in geomatics or drone-based data collection, ideally within mining or large infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in photogrammetry, GIS software, and surveying QA/QC discipline
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, ethical handling of sensitive community/land data, and the ability to translate complex spatial models into plain language for stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Surpac, Model Maker, Civil 3D
  • Experience carrying out surveys on large tailings dams
