About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical support and engineering expertise to Maintenance Delivery, System Optimisation and operational teams
- Identify opportunities to improve the performance, reliability and maintenance of PRVs and wider control valve assets
- Analyse pressure, flow and operational data to identify maintenance priorities and optimisation opportunities
- Support the planning and delivery of proactive maintenance programmes across the control valve estate
- Manage and maintain data relating to asset performance, maintenance activities and optimisation opportunities
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and suppliers to minimise network and customer impact during maintenance and improvement activities
- Support the implementation of new optimisation schemes and facilitate smooth handovers into operational maintenance
- Drive improvements in maintenance processes, reporting and ways of working through data-led decision making
- Support governance and data quality activities, ensuring asset information and monitoring systems remain accurate and aligned to company standards
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies, improved asset performance and enhanced operational effectiveness across the maintenance workstream
- Develop and maintain monitoring, alarm and reporting systems for PRV controllers and associated equipment
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across the business
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience within water network operations, maintenance, asset management or a related engineering environment
- Strong understanding of water distribution systems, pressure management and control valve operation
- Experience analysing operational, pressure and flow data to support decision making and performance improvements
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify practical engineering solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
- Experience managing asset data, performance information and reporting tools
- Good understanding of health, safety and compliance requirements within an operational environment
- Strong IT and systems skills, including experience working with asset, maintenance or monitoring platforms
- Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement more efficient ways of working
- NRSWA Accreditation (Essential)
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English (Essential)
- Water industry qualifications such as Distribution Control NVQ, Leakage Control NVQ or BPEC Water Supply Regulations qualification (Desirable)
- Experience with PRV optimisation, network performance improvement programmes or control valve maintenance (Desirable)
- NRSWA Supervisor, Water Hygiene or Confined Spaces qualifications (Desirable)
